Head of Internal Audit (C-Suite Level)

About the role

A regulated banking organisation in Dubai is looking for a senior internal audit professional to lead its audit function and provide independent assurance to senior stakeholders and the Board. You will shape and deliver the risk-based audit strategy, assess governance and controls, lead an audit team and play a key role in regulatory engagement and audit transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the risk-based internal audit plan.
• Oversee audits across banking operations, treasury, credit, compliance, AML/CFT and technology.
• Evaluate governance, internal controls, risk frameworks and regulatory compliance.
• Engage with the CBUAE, the Board Audit Committee, external auditors and senior management.
• Report audit findings and remediation progress to senior stakeholders.
• Lead the audit team and improve audit quality and delivery.

Required profile

• 16+ years in banking/financial services, including 10+ years in Internal Audit.
• 5+ years in senior audit leadership within a UAE-regulated institution.
• Strong UAE regulatory knowledge and practical risk-based auditing and IIA experience.
• CIA mandatory or highly preferred; CPA, ACCA, CISA, CFA or CRMA advantageous.
• Relevant degree; a Master's is preferred.
• UAE nationals are particularly encouraged to apply; candidates with substantial UAE banking and regulatory experience will also be considered.
