Head of Languages

About the role

Delta English School seeks an experienced Head of Languages to lead the Department of Languages in delivering innovative CBSE French, Hindi and Urdu programmes. The role combines curriculum design, digital resource development and strategic leadership to raise student achievement across grades 1‑10.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Delta IQ Curriculum Engineering team to create curriculum maps, syllabi and content standards for personalized learning.
• Expand the school’s digital repository of STEAM‑based language lessons, ensuring they are innovative, standards‑based and differentiated.
• Partner with ICT leads to develop digital language learning resources and integrate technology into instruction.
• Define and monitor department KPIs using attainment data, and drive continuous improvement.
• Coach faculty to gamify student engagement for foundational, mezzanine and gifted‑talent programmes.
• Conduct audits of teaching practices in line with QHSE policies through observations and assessment reviews.
• Close performance gaps for at‑risk and SEND learners by coordinating with counselors and psychologists.
• Champion language enrichment activities and contribute to the school’s five‑year strategic plan.

Required profile

• Proven experience in academic operations and leading language departments in a K‑12 setting.
• Track record of managing curriculum planning, lesson deployment and assessment construction projects.
• Strong data‑driven decision‑making and ability to set measurable performance targets.
• Excellent leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
