Head of Physical Education

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic leader to head the Physical Education department at our school in Fujairah. The role involves shaping the curriculum, driving assessment excellence, and fostering a culture of high-quality teaching and learning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the department in developing and improving teaching and learning practices.
• Set priorities and goals that align with the school’s mission and vision.
• Plan curriculum and maintain schemes of work through vertical and horizontal collaboration.
• Maintain and develop assessment practices, including oral assessment, standardisation and moderation.
• Analyse examination and performance data and report results to the Middle and Secondary School Leadership Team.
• Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning within the department in line with school policy.
• Recommend appropriate professional development for department teachers.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience.
• PGCE or recognised teaching qualification in Physical Education from Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Spain, Ireland or South Africa.
