Head of Supply Chain

About the role

Black Pearl Consult is recruiting an experienced Head of Supply Chain for a senior leadership position with an established organisation in the UAE. The role suits a commercially driven professional with extensive experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, contract management, logistics and operational planning. The incumbent develops and executes supply chain strategy, improves operational performance, optimises costs and strengthens supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives, operational needs and financial targets.
• Lead procurement, strategic sourcing, contract management and supplier relationship activities across major projects.
• Oversee procurement planning, logistics coordination, inventory management and supplier delivery performance.
• Drive cost optimisation through negotiations, expenditure management, process improvements and supplier partnerships.
• Set up and monitor performance indicators, controls and reporting frameworks.
• Manage procurement budgets, financial planning and expenditure forecasts.
• Identify and manage commercial, operational, supplier and contractual risks in line with policies and regulations.
• Support the rollout of ERP, digital procurement and supply chain management systems.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Engineering and other departments.
• Strengthen supplier evaluation, contract negotiation and performance management processes.
• Prepare performance reports, financial assessments and strategic recommendations for senior management.
• Lead, mentor and develop the supply chain team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Extensive experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics or commercial operations, including senior management or leadership roles.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end supply chain functions in complex, project-driven or operationally intensive organisations.
• Experience managing significant procurement expenditure, budgets, cost-reduction programmes and financial forecasts.
• Experience developing high-performing teams and managing cross-functional relationships.
• Experience in the UAE or wider GCC market is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strategic sourcing, procurement planning, supplier negotiations, contract management and vendor performance.
• Inventory optimisation, logistics management and supply chain planning.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, procurement technology and digital supply chain solutions.
• Strong analytical, financial, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to communicate with senior leadership and present commercially sound recommendations.
