Head of Year (Primary) – Start Jan 2027

About the role

Aldar Education is looking for an experienced Head of Year (Primary) to join Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi from January 2027. The role leads the primary year group, shaping curriculum delivery, student progress and staff performance within a rapidly expanding, high‑performing school.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement departmental policies that align with the school’s vision and high standards of achievement.
• Use data to identify under‑achieving students, design intervention plans and monitor outcomes.
• Oversee curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for all learners, including SEN, G&T and EAL provision.
• Lead, manage and appraise teaching staff, fostering collaboration, accountability and professional growth.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources and health‑and‑safety compliance to create an effective learning environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or BA with PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Minimum three years teaching the English National Curriculum, with demonstrated leadership experience.
• Strong commitment to child welfare, recent involvement in extracurricular activities and a solution‑focused attitude.
• Clean enhanced DBS/police check and willingness to undergo rigorous safer‑recruitment checks.
