Head Quality & Risk Management

About the role

The Head Quality & Risk Management oversees the development and implementation of organisation-wide quality and risk management programmes, ensuring full compliance of the Fakeeh Health Care facility with regulatory and accrediting bodies. The role champions and acts as the ultimate custodian of quality and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day oversight of the Quality and Risk Management Department, including document management, risk management, data management, audits, reviews and performance improvement activities
• Manage department logistics, including work assignments, schedules, recruitment and annual evaluations, and develop the skills of department members
• Lead compliance with local and international healthcare regulations and manage accreditation processes
• Develop and revise hospital policies and procedures to reflect current regulations and best practice
• Ensure timely collection, analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data for KPIs, and validate and share data
• Lead performance improvement initiatives focused on patient safety and quality of care
• Organise safety campaigns, awareness events and educational content, and cover the risk manager's role during their absence
• Conduct safety culture surveys, perform rounds and use tracers to check compliance with standards and International Patient Safety Goals
• Implement training on quality improvement, risk assessment, data management, just culture and investigation of occurrences
• Take part in hospital committees, maintain a feedback database, attend leadership rounds and join the budget process once a year

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Medicine, Healthcare Administration or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• Relevant certification in healthcare quality, patient safety or risk management (e.g. CPHQ/CPPS)
• 8-10 years of healthcare quality and risk management experience, including 5 years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of UAE healthcare regulations and accreditation standards including JCI
