Hospital Pharmacist

About the role

The Royal Women Hospital Abu Dhabi is seeking a licensed pharmacist to manage and supervise its pharmacy operations. The role requires independent decision‑making, adherence to local regulations, and the ability to provide expert advice to physicians and patients.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and process all prescriptions, clarifying any doubts with physicians and insurance providers.
• Dispense medications, including controlled and semi‑controlled substances, in compliance with HAAD regulations.
• Provide patient counseling and answer medication‑related enquiries.
• Advise physicians on therapeutic equivalents and manage drug usage when required.
• Supervise assistant pharmacists and pharmacy support staff, ensuring quality indicators are met.
• Maintain infection‑control, patient‑safety, and patient‑assessment standards.
• Be on call for emergencies and work rotating shifts as needed.
• Ensure full compliance with all pharmacy‑related laws, circulars, and regulations.

Required profile

• Licensed pharmacist authorized to practice in the UAE.
• Ability to work independently and assume legal responsibility for dispensing accuracy.
• Experience supervising pharmacy staff and handling shift work.
• Strong knowledge of HAAD pharmacy regulations and controlled‑substance handling.
