Hospital Podiatrist

About the role

The Hospital Podiatrist will deliver safe, evidence‑based podiatry services across outpatient clinics, inpatient care and home‑care visits. The role includes clinical leadership, staff supervision and development of service strategies to meet patient needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive podiatry care, including minor surgery, diabetic wound management and biomechanical assessments.
• Supervise junior staff, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, report shortages and approve replenishments.
• Organise daily clinical sessions and oversee administrative processes for all podiatry services.
• Develop and review policies, procedures and future service strategies.
• Record patient contacts and monthly statistics in accordance with medical record documentation policies.
• Liaise with community clinics and the Community Health Department for preventive foot health services.

Required profile

• Qualified podiatrist with experience in hospital settings.
• Proven ability to manage a multidisciplinary podiatry team.
• Strong knowledge of diabetic foot care, minor surgical techniques and orthotic device production.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence‑based practice.
