Housekeeping Runner

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, based in Wasl Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road, is looking for a Housekeeping Runner to join its Housekeeping team. The runner handles housekeeping stores, floor pantries and guest room deliveries, keeping everything to the highest quality and to Mandarin Oriental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage housekeeping stores: receive stock, store it properly and notify the supervisor of low stock levels.
• Maintain floor pantries, refill guest supplies and make timely deliveries to guest rooms, such as extra beds and baby cots.
• Deliver special guest requests on time, with proper presentation and standard, and record each request on a checklist (who requested it, when received, when delivered and guest feedback).
• Offer assistance to guests when requested or needed, in line with Mandarin Oriental, Forbes, LQA, LRA and LQE standards.
• Issue items from housekeeping stores and keep them neatly arranged and maintained.
• Remove soiled linens and towels from the pantry and hand them over to the Linen Runner or dispose of them in the linen chute.

Required profile

• Senior high school diploma or equivalent; a vocational diploma in a hospitality-related subject is an advantage.
• At least 1 year of experience in a luxury hotel environment.
• At least 1 year of housekeeping experience in luxury hotels; Middle East experience is an advantage.
• Prior experience with HotSOS is an advantage.
• Good communication skills and the ability to lift and carry heavy loads.
