HSE Engineer

About the role

The HSE Engineer will lead health, safety and environmental initiatives across project sites, ensuring compliance with legal standards and company policies. This senior‑level position works closely with site engineers, supervisors and management to embed a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve the HSE Management System, aligning it with local and international regulations.
• Conduct periodic HSE audits, inspections and detailed Job Safety Analyses, recommending corrective actions.
• Oversee risk assessments, hazard identification and mitigation for all site activities.
• Supervise HSE Officers, manage emergency response plans and lead regular drills.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities to ensure permits, licenses and documentation are up to date.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent, OSHAD certification and ISO 14001 knowledge.
• 2‑4 years of HSE management experience in construction, engineering or industrial projects.
• Proven track record in accident investigation, risk assessment and safety policy implementation.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of HSE regulations (OSHA, OSHAD, Civil Defence).
• Experience with HSE software tools, incident tracking systems and risk assessment tools.
• Proficiency in MS Office for reporting and documentation.
