HSE Manager – Chemical Manufacturing

About the role

A client of Agile Consultants is looking for an experienced HSE Manager to oversee Health, Safety and Environment compliance across production and plant operations in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. The role suits someone with a strong background in chemical manufacturing, covering regulatory compliance, safety programmes and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with UAE HSE legislation, regulatory requirements and relevant ISO standards.
• Develop, implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures and safety programmes across production and plant operations.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, incident investigations and compliance audits.
• Monitor operational safety, chemical handling, hazardous materials management and emergency preparedness.
• Drive corrective and preventive actions to reduce workplace risks and incidents.
• Prepare and submit monthly HSE performance reports, incident statistics and compliance updates to management.
• Promote a strong safety culture through employee training, awareness programmes and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering or science field is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in chemical manufacturing; candidates with 8 years may be considered if exceptionally qualified.
• Proven experience in chemical manufacturing involving polymers, polyols, alkyds, resins or similar raw chemical materials.
• UAE chemical manufacturing experience and up-to-date knowledge of local HSE regulations are preferred.
• Recognised HSE certification such as NEBOSH or an equivalent qualification is mandatory.
