HSE Officer (UAE National) – Sewerage & Wastewater Projects

About the role

Stantec is looking for an HSE officer based in Ras al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, to support projects in sewerage and stormwater, flood alleviation, wastewater networks, water distribution, pumping stations, recycling plants and rehabilitation works. The role covers investigations, planning, design, tendering, contract administration and construction supervision, with a strong focus on site safety, health and environment management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site safety, health and environment; prepare the construction health and safety plan and confirm required documentation with authorities
• Attend project planning, site, technical and progress meetings, and facilitate site health and safety meetings
• Set up health and safety communication channels and share safety documents with subcontractors
• Prepare and test emergency response and preparedness plans, and conduct site safety inductions
• Oversee incident reporting and investigation, and write technical reports on health and safety issues presented to decision-makers
• Liaise with internal and external clients and maintain a safe working environment
• Follow safe work practices, company guidelines and Stantec quality procedures, and carry out other duties asked by the Resident Engineer

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering in health and safety management, environmental science or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in miscellaneous drainage work, construction rehabilitation and wastewater
• NEBOSH IGC level 3 is mandatory, plus other HSE-related diplomas
• Abu Dhabi Public Health Center Practitioner course
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices in the UAE and Abu Dhabi
• UAE driving licence; previous TAQA approval preferred
