HSSE Advisor (Oil & Gas)

About the role

Petrofac is seeking an HSSE Advisor to oversee health, safety, security and environmental activities on its projects. You will ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, support awareness programmes and contribute to a safe, sustainable working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day HSE activities within assigned areas.
• Maintain the HSE Management System to retain ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 certification.
• Develop and update HSE documentation for the project.
• Lead HSE awareness campaigns and hazard identification processes.
• Participate in hazard control reviews and implement ALARP measures.
• Provide input to the HSE action tracking system and ensure communication of HSE requirements.
• Assist in incident and near‑miss investigations and root‑cause analysis.
• Support compliance audits, inspections and performance meetings.
• Contribute to HAZID, HAZOP, HAZCON, ENVID and QRA workshops.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (4 years) or Diploma (3 years).
• NEBOSH certification or equivalent.
• Lead or Internal Auditor qualification for ISO 45001/ISO 14001.
• Minimum 5 years HSE experience, preferably on oil & gas sites.
• Proven ability to implement HSE plans, site‑specific procedures and safe systems of work.
• Strong communication skills and ability to conduct site inspections.
