HSSE Officer – Automotive Sector

About the role

The HSSE Officer will ensure enforcement and compliance of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental standards across assigned automotive sites in Abu Dhabi, driving hazard identification, safety improvements, and emergency preparedness.

Key responsibilities

• Increase hazard identification and reporting by 65% through regular inspections and safety committee meetings.
• Achieve a 45% reduction in preventable incidents by implementing corrective measures.
• Conduct daily security verifications, surprise site visits, and maintain a Security Competency score of 75% by December 2023.
• Manage fire safety compliance, conduct monthly inspections, and organize emergency evacuation exercises.
• Maintain up‑to‑date HSE records, certifications, and equipment inventory.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sustainability or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of HSSE or security experience.
• Fluency in English and Arabic for internal operations and government communications.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Effective team and people management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Competence with computer systems for HSSE documentation.
