Hub Cargo Officer

About the role

The Hub Cargo Officer is responsible for managing daily cargo warehouse operations, ensuring timely and accurate handling of shipments while meeting performance targets such as On‑Time Departure (OTD) and Service Level Agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and oversee inbound and outbound cargo activities, monitoring weight, volume, and quality to prevent stow loss.
• Optimize space utilization and route planning using cargo spot tools, and manage red routes and potential no‑shows.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and dangerous‑goods regulations, including proper ULD lashing and PPE usage.
• Maintain close relationships with Service Providers to secure resources for on‑time departures, especially for freighter and RFS operations.
• Support the Cargo Operations Center Duty Manager in achieving departmental and corporate targets.
• Conduct spot checks on HDU and TRU units and coordinate volume updates with origins.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and coaching to GHA staff to raise competency levels.

Required profile

• High school education with specialization in cargo handling operations.
• Successful completion of cargo, dangerous‑goods, live‑animals, aircraft weight‑and‑balance, and general cargo courses.
• Minimum three years of experience in cargo operations.
• Strong knowledge of cargo handling processes, regulatory compliance, and Etihad procedures.
