HVAC Maintenance Specialist

About the role

A full-time HVAC Maintenance Specialist is sought to maintain, troubleshoot and repair heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. The role helps ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, indoor comfort and safe facility operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and cooling system issues.
• Repair or replace defective components to restore proper system operation.
• Monitor HVAC performance, temperature controls, airflow and system efficiency.
• Clean and maintain filters, coils, ducts and other components; check air conditioning units and ventilation systems.
• Identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Respond to maintenance requests and HVAC-related service calls.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs and maintenance activities.
• Ensure work complies with workplace safety procedures and regulations, and coordinate with facilities and maintenance teams.
• Recommend improvements to improve energy efficiency and equipment reliability.

Required profile

• Technical certification, diploma or equivalent training in HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Previous experience in HVAC maintenance, repair or facilities services is preferred.
• Knowledge of air conditioning systems, ventilation equipment and refrigeration principles.
• Familiarity with HVAC tools, testing equipment and maintenance procedures.
• Understanding of workplace safety standards and relevant environmental requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and with a maintenance team.
• Relevant trade licenses or certifications where required by local regulations.
