HVAC Technician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join Sofitel’s facilities team in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves operating, maintaining and repairing a wide range of air‑conditioning and refrigeration equipment across our hotel properties, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and repair chillers, AHUs, FCUs, split and window air‑conditioning units, cold rooms, coolers, ice machines and extract fans.
• Coordinate scheduled maintenance with fire‑fighting contractors and verify compliance with the Cause‑and‑Effect matrix.
• Maintain adequate stock of spare parts and verify the quality of purchased materials.
• Implement energy‑saving measures and monitor energy consumption to reduce costs.
• Conduct daily checks on cooling towers, make‑water systems, pumps, water‑treatment units and major refrigeration equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule and keep detailed service histories.
• Recommend improvements to optimise system efficiency and economy.

Required profile

• Trade Certificate (minimum 2 years) in Refrigeration/Air‑Conditioning engineering.
• At least 4 years of hands‑on experience with hotel‑type HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Familiarity with safety procedures, isolation points and building layout.
