Hydraulic Mechanic - Piling Engineer

About the role

Geomar Gulf LLC is looking for an engineer to support geotechnical piling and the mechanical operation of piling machines in Dubai. The role combines ground engineering knowledge with practical equipment oversight to help deliver safe, reliable piling operations for construction projects. It works closely with project teams and equipment operators.

Key responsibilities

• Review geotechnical information, piling plans and site conditions to support appropriate piling methods and execution.
• Coordinate piling activities with project, construction and site teams, monitoring progress against technical requirements and schedules.
• Inspect piling machinery and associated mechanical systems, identify faults and coordinate maintenance, repairs and readiness checks.
• Troubleshoot equipment and piling-process issues, document findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor compliance with site safety procedures, equipment operating guidance and engineering specifications.
• Maintain records of inspections, equipment servicing, piling progress and technical observations.
• Communicate operational risks and material or equipment needs to project stakeholders in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of geotechnical engineering, soil conditions, foundation systems and piling methods.
• Ability to interpret piling plans, technical specifications, engineering drawings and site documentation.
• Experience conducting equipment inspections, recognising wear or faults and coordinating preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Clear written and verbal communication with engineers, contractors, operators and stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving, record-keeping, coordination and prioritisation in an active project environment.
• Commitment to safe work practices and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting of piling rigs, engines, hydraulic systems and related equipment.
• Proficiency with standard engineering documentation and office software; familiarity with CAD tools is beneficial.
