In-House Counsel – Employment Law Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced In‑House Counsel to provide specialist employment‑law advice across a wide range of HR and legal matters. The role will work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure compliance with UAE legislation while supporting business operations with commercially‑focused guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day advice on UAE employment law and employee‑relations issues.
• Draft, review and negotiate employment contracts, policies, disciplinary documents and settlement agreements.
• Advise on the full employee lifecycle – recruitment, probation, performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances and terminations.
• Ensure compliance with UAE Labour Law, MOHRE regulations and related legislation.
• Support investigations into employee‑relations matters and deliver legally sound recommendations.
• Manage employment disputes, labour complaints and external legal correspondence.
• Partner with HR and leadership on organisational change, restructures and workforce planning.
• Monitor legislative developments and advise on regulatory changes.
• Develop and deliver employment‑law training for managers and HR teams.
• Liaise with external counsel and government authorities as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent); postgraduate qualification preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience advising on UAE employment law in private practice or in‑house.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is advantageous.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills and ability to work with senior leadership.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of UAE Labour Law and MOHRE procedures.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Commercially‑minded approach to balancing legal risk with business objectives.
