Infection Preventionist - Healthcare

About the role

A healthcare facility in Dubai is looking for a qualified and experienced Infection Preventionist. The role is responsible for implementing, monitoring and evaluating infection prevention and control programmes so that patients and staff stay safe, in line with DHA regulations and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies and procedures
• Conduct infection surveillance and monitor healthcare-associated infections
• Lead infection control audits and ensure compliance with DHA and accreditation standards
• Provide staff education and training on infection prevention practices
• Participate in outbreak investigations and risk assessments
• Collaborate with clinical teams to promote patient safety initiatives

Required profile

• Valid DHA license (mandatory)
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting (clinical practice, nursing, public health, allied health or related field)
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant healthcare discipline
• Certification or diploma in Infection Prevention and Control
• Experience in hospital-based infection control programmes preferred

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and training abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of healthcare accreditation standards; JCI experience is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of infection surveillance, prevention strategies and regulatory standards
