Infectious Disease Specialist – Sharjah, UAE

About the role

We are looking for a highly qualified Infectious Disease Specialist to join a leading healthcare facility in Sharjah. The role involves diagnosing, treating and managing a broad spectrum of infectious diseases while supporting antimicrobial stewardship and infection‑prevention programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage bacterial, viral, fungal, parasitic and other infections.
• Provide specialist consultation for complex or difficult‑to‑diagnose cases.
• Develop antimicrobial treatment plans based on clinical findings and laboratory results.
• Participate in antimicrobial stewardship and promote responsible antibiotic use.
• Collaborate with microbiology, ICU, emergency, surgery, oncology and other departments.
• Guide infection‑prevention measures, isolation precautions and outbreak management.
• Interpret microbiology, serology and molecular diagnostic results.
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
• Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to clinical audits and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Postgraduate qualification in Infectious Diseases (MD, DNB, DM, MRCP, FRCP, Arab Board or equivalent).
• Valid or eligible medical licence from a GCC health authority.
• Minimum 3 years of post‑specialisation experience.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
