Information Technology Officer

About the role

The Information Technology Officer troubleshoots and resolves technical problems related to computer software and systems, provides technical guidance to resolve business problems, and supports the maintenance and operation of applications, user accounts and telecommunications activities. The role also involves advising on administrative policies and procedures and supporting the team and employees.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve software and system issues, and provide technical guidance and recommendations to resolve business problems.
• Analyze, recommend and implement process improvements.
• Enter commands and activate controls on computer and peripheral equipment to integrate and operate equipment.
• Troubleshoot, modify, support, manage and maintain applications programs and user accounts.
• Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems, remedial actions and installation activities.
• Train or instruct users in the proper use of hardware or software.
• Manage and coordinate planning, design, operations, maintenance and resource allocation of telecommunications activities, including client/server support and strategic and tactical planning.
• Advise others on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities and methods related to telecommunications.
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, disciplining and motivating employees, and act as first point of contact for the Open Door Policy process.
• Develop positive working relationships, follow company policies, protect company assets and ensure quality standards.
• Enter and locate information using computers and Point of Sale (POS) systems, and move objects weighing up to 10 pounds.

Required profile

• Preferred: a Technical, Trade or Vocational School degree.
• Preferred: at least 2 years of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification required.
