Inspector I – Quality (Entry‑Level)

About the role

Petrofac, a leading international service provider to the energy industry, is seeking an Inspector I – Quality (EIT) for its Abu Dhabi operations. The role involves inspecting and testing temporary electrical works and cable installations to ensure compliance with engineering standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and test temporary electrical works and connections to camp facilities.
• Verify installation of supports before cable tray placement.
• Inspect cable tray and conduit installations prior to cable laying.
• Check underground stub‑ups, cable trench dimensions, and sand bedding.
• Monitor cable jointing and termination processes, ensuring manufacturer recommendations are followed.
• Witness insulation resistance, continuity, Hi‑pot, and final torque tests on cables.
• Inspect cable segregation, glanding, dressing, and back‑filling procedures.
• Supervise equipment installation at substations, ensuring adherence to manufacturer guidelines.
• Monitor preservation of switchgear, transformers, bus ducts and related equipment.
• Witness alignment, torquing, IR, and Hi‑pot tests of switchgear, bus bars, and transformers.

Required profile

• Ability to perform detailed inspections and testing of electrical installations.
• Familiarity with engineering inspection and test plans (ITP) and vendor documentation.
• Attention to safety and quality standards in an energy‑industry environment.
