Instructor – Arabic/English Interpreting

About the role

The United Arab Emirates University seeks a full‑time Instructor to teach Arabic‑English and English‑Arabic interpreting to undergraduate students. The role involves delivering high‑quality instruction, mentoring students, and contributing to curriculum development within a dynamic academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in Arabic/English interpreting, covering both consecutive and simultaneous modes.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate students on academic and professional matters.
• Select, prepare, and utilise appropriate teaching and learning resources.
• Plan and deliver well‑organized, effective instructional sessions.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds and individual learning needs.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous program improvement.

Required profile

• Relevant postgraduate degree in Translation, Interpreting, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience teaching consecutive and simultaneous interpreting.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in both Arabic and English.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Professional experience as an interpreter is an advantage.
