Instrumentation & Control Engineer – Operations & Maintenance

About the role

The Rotational Support / Remote Engineer – Instrument & Control will provide day‑to‑day I&C engineering support for site operations, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant production. The role works closely with the site team to resolve operational queries, manage risks and drive engineering solutions that enhance production performance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver immediate I&C engineering support to resolve operational issues under the direction of the Operations Engineering Manager.
• Identify, assess and mitigate I&C engineering risks, ensuring actions are taken within agreed timeframes.
• Define and monitor I&C operating envelopes, investigate excursions and maintain equipment health.
• Track I&C KPIs, initiate corrective actions, and support technical Management of Change (MoC) and Engineering Queries (EQs).
• Identify production vulnerabilities, propose optimization opportunities and contribute to site SOPs.
• Provide coaching to client engineers and produce/maintain technical documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline, with professional accreditation (Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer preferred).
• Significant experience in an operations I&C engineering support role, with strong knowledge of industry codes, standards and regulations.
• Advanced technical knowledge, stakeholder‑management capability and ability to drive risk‑based decisions.
