Instrumentation & Control Technician – Plant Maintenance

About the role

The Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Technician will ensure the reliable operation of plant instrumentation and control equipment through maintenance, installation, overhauling and modification activities. Working on a coal‑fired power plant, the role supports continuous production while adhering to HSE and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on instrumentation and control systems according to schedule and ACWA NOMAC procedures.
• Monitor the condition of all assigned equipment, report non‑conformances and assist the I&C Engineer/Supervisor.
• Respond to equipment failures, diagnose faults, replace parts, calibrate instruments and restore functionality.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, control diagrams and system schematics to guide maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, calibrations, tests and spare‑part usage.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in instrumentation and control maintenance within a coal‑fired power plant.
• Technical certificate or Associate’s Diploma in Instrument Engineering.
• Practical knowledge of plant equipment, waste classification and disposal, and HSE & quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow safety procedures.
