About the role

The Intraday Trading team at Macquarie is building a proprietary desk focused on intraday power markets across Europe and beyond. As an Intraday Algo Trader you will join a fast‑growing group that blends quantitative research, systematic trading and discretionary insight to generate strong risk‑adjusted returns.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise algorithmic trading strategies for intraday power markets.
• Continuously monitor strategy performance, adjust parameters and manage risk exposure.
• Collaborate with other algo, discretionary traders and developers to improve models and execution.
• Conduct back‑testing, validation and data‑driven analysis to ensure robustness.
• Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes and emerging technologies that impact power trading.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of proven experience in algorithmic trading within intraday power markets.
• Strong quantitative background with the ability to translate data insights into trading logic.
• Demonstrated track record of developing, testing and deploying profitable algorithms.
• Excellent risk‑management skills in a performance‑driven environment.
