Investment Director – Private Equity & Impact Investing (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

The newly created independent private‑equity platform is seeking a founding Investment Director to lead its first USD 200 million fund. Based in Abu Dhabi, the role combines traditional growth‑equity expertise with a strong focus on UN SDG‑aligned impact investing across emerging markets.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and source proprietary deal flow across target geographies, focusing on off‑market opportunities that meet impact and risk‑return criteria.
• Lead end‑to‑end transaction execution, directing multi‑disciplinary due diligence, building complex valuation models and structuring blended‑finance deals.
• Oversee portfolio management, hold board seats, monitor KPIs and design value‑creation plans with portfolio companies.
• Define and execute exit strategies to achieve target gross IRR and MOIC, managing sell‑side processes and negotiations.
• Embed UN SDG Impact Standards and IRIS+ metrics into every investment and coordinate third‑party impact reporting.
• Represent the fund with LPs, DFIs, family offices and sovereign investors, and act as a spokesperson at industry forums.

Required profile

• 10+ years of private‑equity experience with a proven growth‑equity track record.
• Deep expertise in impact investing, UN SDG‑aligned strategies and emerging‑market PE.
• Demonstrated ability to govern at board level and drive portfolio value creation.
• Domain knowledge in at least one sector such as climate‑tech, waste, water, energy, food systems, healthcare or education.
• Top‑tier academic credentials (MSc, MBA or CFA preferred) and experience engaging senior DFIs and regulators.
• Familiarity with AI‑enabled tools across the investment lifecycle.
