Island Manager – Offshore Projects (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Island Manager to lead all offshore island activities for a major PMC project in Abu Dhabi. The role combines site construction management with strong execution and interface leadership to ensure safe, timely and cost‑effective delivery of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start‑up phases.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and communicate with EPC contractors, drilling, logistics, IPMT projects and support teams on the island.
• Act as Incident Commander, overseeing ERP integration, emergency preparedness, equipment readiness and personnel training.
• Manage the island’s temporary accommodation camp and utilities (RO, STP, DEG, HVAC, chillers, fresh water system).
• Conduct welfare audits and meetings to ensure compliance for all island personnel.
• Control space allocation for contractors, drilling and logistics on the island plot plan.
• Supervise vehicle movement, traffic safety and marine logistics, including site access and transportation.
• Coordinate medical response for emergencies.
• Enforce HSE programs and waste‑management systems across the island.
• Oversee harbour operations, material handling and safe marine/aviation activities.
• Provide strategic leadership for all departments and project package teams through SIMOPS.
• Plan and optimise manpower, equipment and material resources.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and operational excellence aligned with corporate objectives.
• Lead daily coordination meetings and serve as primary liaison between island team and headquarters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 20 + years of island management experience in offshore oil & gas.
• At least 5 + years of offshore experience (mandatory).
• 5 + years in a similar senior role.
• Proven experience with ADNOC or comparable major operators in the Middle East.
• Strong background in island/offshore operations, facility management and logistics.
