IST/Switch Application Support Specialist

About the role

VAM Systems is looking for an IST/Switch Application Support Specialist for its UAE operations. The role covers production support (L2/L3) of the FIS IST/Switch payment switching platform, including incident investigation, daily operations and support for projects and enhancements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor real-time transaction flows and ensure high availability of the IST/Switch environment.
• Investigate and resolve transaction failures, authorization declines, timeouts, reconciliation breaks and interface issues, perform root-cause analysis and drive problem management.
• Provide 24x7 on-call, shift-based support and take part in major-incident bridge calls.
• Run daily health checks, batch monitoring, end-of-day settlement and reconciliation; manage HSM key operations, certificate renewals and card-scheme mandate updates.
• Maintain ISO 8583 message configurations, routing tables, BIN/institution setups and stand-in parameters.
• Handle service requests, user access and configuration changes through the change-management process, and keep runbooks and knowledge-base articles up to date.
• Support new card products, scheme mandates, interface integrations and switch upgrades, taking part in requirement analysis, SIT/UAT testing and cut-over.
• Coordinate deployments, releases and post-implementation support, and contribute to disaster-recovery and business continuity testing.

Required profile

• Hands-on experience with IST/Switch (FIS) in a production banking environment.
• Knowledge of IST/Switch active-active setup with dual-site implementation.
• Understanding of card-scheme interfaces and certifications (Visa, Mastercard, mada, UAESWITCH, GCCNet).
• Experience with HSM, key management, EMV, PCI DSS and payment security standards.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux, shell scripting, SQL and log analysis.
• Joining time frame of 2 weeks (maximum 1 month).
