Java Backend Engineer

About the role

Vantari is recruiting a senior Java Backend Engineer for an advanced technology client in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on designing and developing high‑performance backend software for next‑generation cellular and secure communication systems.

Key responsibilities

• Research, design and implement cutting‑edge cellular communication solutions using Kotlin, Java, Akka, Gradle, GitLab and Docker.
• Build backend systems based on Domain‑Driven Design, reactive architectures and actor‑based models.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with comprehensive unit, integration and end‑to‑end testing.
• Deliver scalable, message‑based services that meet strict performance and reliability requirements.
• Collaborate with software engineers, system architects and product managers to shape technical solutions.

Required profile

• BSc or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in Java and Kotlin development.
• Proven ability to work independently, plan and execute complex tasks.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and debugging capabilities.
