Joinery Factory Planner

About the role

The Joinery Factory Planner plans, schedules and coordinates production in a joinery factory so that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards. The role optimizes resources, manages timelines and keeps the workflow efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Production planning and scheduling: develop detailed schedules based on project requirements and deadlines, allocate manpower, machinery and materials, monitor progress and adjust schedules.
• Material and inventory management: coordinate with procurement and stores for timely supply of wood, MDF, laminates, veneers and hardware; monitor stock and minimize wastage; document material consumption and inventory.
• Coordination and workflow optimization: liaise with design, engineering and project teams, and with CNC, carpentry, polishing and assembly departments, resolving bottlenecks.
• Quality and compliance: ensure production follows design specs and quality standards, work with quality control teams on defects, and maintain safety and compliance standards.
• Project monitoring and reporting: track production progress and efficiency, report on machine utilization, labor productivity and material consumption, and update management on project status and risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in joinery or woodworking factory planning.
• Preferred: experience in high-end custom joinery and fitout projects, understanding of lean manufacturing and process optimization, ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of woodworking machinery, joinery techniques and materials.
• Proficiency in production planning software such as ERP, AutoCAD and MS Project.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, communication and coordination skills.
