Junior Accountant - Interior Design & Fit-Out

About the role

An oil and gas company is looking for a Junior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations for its interior design and fit-out business. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of UAE accounting practices and experience handling project-based expenses, invoices and financial records.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting transactions, bookkeeping and financial records
• Prepare and process sales and purchase invoices
• Handle accounts payable and receivable
• Maintain accurate records of project-related expenses and costs
• Reconcile bank statements and supplier and customer accounts
• Assist with monthly financial reports and management accounts
• Monitor payments, collections and outstanding balances
• Prepare VAT-related records and coordinate UAE VAT filing
• Maintain documentation for audits and financial reviews
• Coordinate with suppliers, clients and internal project teams on payments and invoices
• Track project budgets, expenses and profitability
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and UAE regulations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in interior design, fit-out, construction or contracting
• Good understanding of UAE VAT and accounting practices
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel
• Good attention to detail, numerical accuracy, organization and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period preferred

Required skills

• Accounting software such as Tally, Zoho, QuickBooks or similar
• Preferred: project costing and job-wise accounting experience
• Preferred: experience with construction/interior design material purchases and supplier accounts
