Junior Accountant

About the role

Korax Energy is seeking a detail‑oriented Junior Accountant to join its finance team in Dubai. The role supports day‑to‑day financial operations, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger, managing payables and receivables, and assisting with VAT compliance within the oil and gas sector.

Key responsibilities

• Log and process financial transactions, vendor invoices, credit notes, and supplier payment vouchers.
• Conduct regular vendor statement reconciliations and resolve billing or payment discrepancies.
• Maintain general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and assist with month‑end and year‑end closing cycles.
• Track accounts receivable ledgers and coordinate follow‑ups on outstanding client balances.
• Assist in compiling management financial reports and ensure adherence to UAE VAT regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in an accounting or finance role; familiarity with the oil & gas or energy sector is a plus.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of MS Excel, accounting software, general ledger reconciliations, and UAE VAT frameworks.
• Core competencies in financial record‑keeping, accounts payable/receivable management, discrepancy resolution, and organizational precision.
