Junior Accountant - Sea Cargo Services

About the role

Elite East Paradise Sea Cargo Services LLC, a provider of sea cargo solutions, is hiring a Junior Accountant for a full-time, on-site position in Dubai. The accountant supports the finance team with daily accounting and bookkeeping, working alongside operations and management to track costs accurately and comply with internal financial controls. The role offers practical experience in accounting within the logistics and maritime sector, with guidance from senior finance staff.

Key responsibilities

• Record financial transactions and maintain ledgers
• Prepare invoices and assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Reconcile bank statements
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes
• Help prepare basic financial reports
• Collaborate with operations and management on cost tracking and financial compliance

Required profile

• 2 to 3 years of continuous accounting experience with a single shipping employer (general accounting experience outside shipping does not qualify)
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a closely related field
• Willingness to learn sea cargo and logistics processes; prior shipping or logistics experience is an advantage
• Integrity, reliability and adherence to company policies and regulations

Required skills

• Basic accounting and bookkeeping, including journal entries, ledgers and financial records
• Handling invoices, accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Accounting software and MS Excel for data entry, reconciliations and simple financial analysis
• Attention to detail, numerical accuracy and organisational skills
• Written and verbal communication and teamwork with finance and operations
