Junior Animal Keeper at Green Planet

About the role

Dubai Holding Entertainment is seeking a Junior Animal Keeper to join the Green Planet team in Dubai. The role involves daily care of plants and animals, supporting exhibit operations and engaging with visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily feeding, nutrition preparation and delivery for plants and animals.
• Monitor life‑support systems and assist with medical treatment and disease prevention.
• Maintain and improve animal exhibits through regular upkeep, maintenance and exhibit changes.
• Keep accurate records of animal care, facility operations and departmental activities.
• Lead guest interactions and animal encounters, providing accurate information about exhibits and shows.
• Support special functions, themed evenings and exclusive‑use events by assisting with facility preparations and guest flow.
• Identify and suggest practical improvements to animal exhibits and the overall guest experience.

Required profile

• University degree or minimum three years of relevant experience in a zoological or aquarium facility.
• Experience in plant and animal care, feeding, medical treatment, nutrition and exhibit maintenance.
• Ability to work within curatorial and life‑support operations while following established standards.
• Strong teamwork, adaptability and initiative to improve processes.
• Effective communication with guests and colleagues, delivering high standards of safety and education.

Required skills

• Preparing curatorial reports and maintaining accurate animal‑care records.
• Conducting guest‑facing animal encounters and supporting public‑relations activities.
