Junior Barrister / Associate Counsel – Dubai Disputes Practice

About the role

A leading Dubai‑based law firm is expanding its disputes practice and seeks a high‑calibre Junior Barrister or common‑law qualified disputes lawyer. The role offers the chance to work on high‑value commercial matters before the DIFC and ADGM Courts, gaining direct exposure to senior litigators and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing contentious matters before the DIFC Courts and ADGM Courts.
• Draft pleadings, submissions, witness statements, skeleton arguments and legal memoranda.
• Conduct legal research on procedural and substantive common‑law issues.
• Support hearings, case management conferences, mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Liaise with clients, external counsel, experts and court registries.
• Contribute to dispute strategy, risk analysis and enforcement planning.
• Assist with cross‑border enforcement and jurisdiction‑related matters where relevant.

Required profile

• Qualified Barrister (England & Wales preferred) or common‑law qualified disputes lawyer.
• 1–2 years post‑qualification experience in commercial litigation, arbitration or dispute resolution.
• Prior exposure to court advocacy and contentious drafting is highly desirable.
• Experience with DIFC Courts, ADGM Courts or other common‑law jurisdictions is an advantage.
• Strong analytical abilities and commercial mindset.
• Excellent client communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
