Junior Conservator – Architectural Finishes

About the role

STRABAG is seeking a Junior Conservator to support the conservation, repair, and restoration of architectural finishes on heritage projects. You will work under senior conservators, applying approved methodologies to protect and preserve valuable architectural elements.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out conservation, repair, and restoration of architectural finishes according to project specifications.
• Assess condition of materials and implement appropriate treatments under senior guidance.
• Assist with preventive conservation activities, including documentation, storage, handling, and protection.
• Prepare treatment records, condition assessments, photographic documentation, and conservation reports.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and multidisciplinary project teams throughout the work.
• Ensure all interventions comply with recognised conservation principles and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Conservation, Architectural Conservation, Fine Arts, Archaeology, Heritage Conservation, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in architectural conservation, restoration, or repair.
• Experience with heritage buildings, museums, or architecturally significant structures is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of various architectural finishes such as timber, glass, stone, terrazzo, mosaics, tiles, wallpapers, stucco, and decorative finishes.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
