About the role
The Junior Legal Counsel will support the business on employment law and litigation matters, working closely with senior lawyers and business stakeholders. You will provide commercially‑focused advice, help manage legal risk, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with employment law advice across multiple jurisdictions, including drafting contracts, disciplinary letters, termination notices and settlement agreements.
- Conduct legal research on employment law developments and regulatory changes.
- Support the management of employee disputes, grievances, investigations and labour claims.
- Help manage labour and commercial disputes, liaise with external counsel, maintain litigation trackers and prepare case summaries.
- Draft and review employment contracts, provide guidance on ministry contract terms, identify legal and commercial risks, and maintain contract templates.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
- Qualified lawyer or working towards professional qualification.
- 3‑5 years post‑qualification or relevant legal experience.
- Experience in a law firm or in‑house legal department.
