Junior OSINT CAT III Linguist (OCONUS)

About the role

The Counterintelligence Operational Support Team seeks a junior linguist to provide translation, transcription, and open‑source intelligence analysis in support of USAF OSI across the CENTCOM area of responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Translate, transcribe and interpret foreign language material from audio, video, and text sources.
• Conduct OSINT research on publicly available media to identify trends, threats and cultural insights.
• Produce analytical reports, briefings and cultural awareness briefs for AFOSI and forward‑deployed units.
• Travel within the AOR up to 30% of the time and deliver products compliant with ICD and AFOSI standards.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with an active Top‑Secret/SCI clearance.
• Minimum two years experience researching in the source language on foreign‑language websites.
• ILR Level 3 or equivalent in reading, listening and speaking for both English and the target language.
• Ability to conduct real‑time consecutive interpreting and produce literal translations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and oral grammar in both languages.
• Knowledge of open‑source intelligence collection and analysis techniques.
