Junior Research Scientist – Quantum & Topological Systems

About the role

The Center for Quantum and Topological Systems (CQTS) at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a Junior Research Scientist to contribute to interdisciplinary quantum research projects and support the center’s academic mission.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct interdisciplinary research in quantum systems aligned with CQTS goals.
• Collaborate with the PI and Co‑PIs to produce high‑quality publications.
• Participate in workshops, seminars, conferences, hackathons and other center activities.
• Mentor undergraduate research students under the guidance of senior investigators.
• Present research findings at national and international meetings and assist with teaching tutorials as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical/Communication Engineering, Mathematics or Physics.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Willingness to engage in outreach, mentoring and teaching activities.
