Junior Sommelier

About the role

The Junior Sommelier will support the food and beverage team at The Ritz‑Carlton Dubai, ensuring high‑quality wine service and seamless guest experiences. Reporting to senior wine staff, the role combines guest interaction, inventory management and team coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure staff teamwork, monitor guest needs, and maintain service standards.
• Inspect staff grooming and attire, correcting any deficiencies.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including setup of supplies, equipment cleaning and securing the venue.
• Manage storage areas, enforce FIFO, conduct inventories and requisition supplies.
• Monitor dining‑room seating, safety and guest wellbeing, and handle work orders for maintenance.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation and employee coaching.
• Uphold company safety policies, report incidents and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum two years of related hospitality or wine service experience.
• At least one year of supervisory or team‑lead experience.
