Junior Sous Chef – Bakery

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join its Bakery team. You will work alongside the Head Baker to prepare a wide range of baked goods while upholding the hotel’s high standards of quality and creativity.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing baked goods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Support daily bakery operations, including inventory checks, ordering supplies, and equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate on the development and testing of new recipes and seasonal items.
• Maintain a clean work environment and ensure compliance with hygiene and food‑safety regulations.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to their skill development.
• Help manage production schedules and control food costs to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of experience in the culinary industry with a focus on baking.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑standards hospitality environment.
• Strong teamwork attitude and willingness to support the Head Baker.
