Junior Sous Chef – Chinese & Thai Cuisine

About the role

The Junior Sous Chef will support the Executive and Senior Sous Chefs in daily kitchen operations at White Orchid, a premier Asian dining venue in JA The Resort, Dubai. This role focuses on delivering authentic Chinese and Thai dishes while maintaining high standards of quality and service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing day‑to‑day kitchen activities and ensure efficient service delivery.
• Prepare and present authentic Chinese and Thai dishes to the highest culinary standards.
• Maintain consistency in food quality, flavour, presentation, and portion control.
• Supervise, train and motivate junior culinary team members.
• Uphold food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen.
• Monitor stock levels, food preparation and overall kitchen productivity.

Required profile

• Chinese or Thai nationality.
• Culinary degree or recognised 3‑year culinary certification.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role within a 5‑star hotel or resort.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Positive attitude, strong attention to detail and passion for culinary excellence.

Required skills

• Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Culinary Diploma.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Strong knowledge of authentic Chinese and/or Thai cuisine.
• Understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards.
