Junior Sous Chef

About the role

Sunset Hospitality Group is seeking a talented Junior Sous Chef to join the opening team at ISOLA, an Italian restaurant in Abu Dhabi. The role supports the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring high‑quality Italian dishes are prepared and served in a busy à la carte environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations and pre‑opening preparations.
• Supervise assigned sections, ensuring mise en place, service readiness and adherence to recipes.
• Prepare Italian dishes, including pasta, risotto, sauces, and meat and seafood preparations, to approved standards.
• Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth, timely service.
• Train and guide junior chefs on cooking techniques, food preparation and kitchen procedures.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, portion control and waste reduction while maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef or Chef de Partie with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong background in Italian restaurants or dedicated Italian à la carte kitchens.
• Practical knowledge of pasta, risotto, Italian sauces, and meat and seafood preparation.
• Experience in a busy restaurant environment maintaining consistent quality.
• Strong organisational, communication and team supervision skills.
• UAE or GCC restaurant experience and pre‑opening experience are advantageous.
