Kitchen Steward - Heartists Cafeteria

About the role

A full-time Kitchen Steward is needed to support daily operations at the Heartists Cafeteria, keeping kitchen and service areas clean, hygienic and safe. The role covers cleaning, dishwashing and basic kitchen maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment, floors and workstations.
• Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils, cookware, crockery and cutlery.
• Follow HACCP, food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ensure proper waste disposal and keep waste storage areas clean.
• Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
• Keep dishwashing and storage areas tidy and organised.
• Support the culinary team by making sure clean equipment and utensils are available during service.
• Report maintenance issues and hygiene concerns to the supervisor.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward or Dishwasher in a hotel, restaurant or cafeteria is an advantage.
• Physically fit, hardworking and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good teamwork, communication and time-management skills.
• An additional advantage: knowledge of another language.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene, sanitation and HACCP standards.
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals and kitchen equipment safely.
