Land Surveyor – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Land Surveyor to join AECOM’s Abu Dhabi team. The role involves performing accurate topographic, control and setting‑out surveys for major infrastructure and construction projects, ensuring all alignments and levels meet project specifications and local standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct topographic, control and setting‑out surveys for pipelines, shafts, chambers and related civil structures.
• Establish, verify and maintain survey control points, benchmarks and reference grids in line with approved drawings and local regulations.
• Check horizontal and vertical alignments, pipe inverts and structure locations for compliance with tolerances during construction.
• Perform as‑built surveys, validate contractors’ as‑built drawings and certify survey results.
• Maintain comprehensive field books, digital data files and survey records with full traceability.
• Coordinate with contractors and supervision teams to resolve on‑site survey discrepancies and participate in pre‑construction and progress meetings.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards during all field operations.
• Provide technical support during testing, commissioning and handover by verifying final levels and coordinates.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in topographic, control and setting‑out surveys and as‑built verification.
• Hands‑on field experience on infrastructure or construction projects.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Physical ability to perform fieldwork and operate surveying equipment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience with GPS, Total Station and modern surveying instruments.
• Competence in surveying software and data management.
• Ability to produce detailed technical reports and documentation.
