Lead Construction Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking a Lead Construction Engineer to provide construction support for major oil & gas and petrochemical projects in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures all work follows client fabrication and installation specifications and coordinates closely with clients and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients to ensure construction methods are understood, fit for purpose, and align with specifications.
• Chair constructability reviews, act as the interface for all fabrication and construction queries, and expedite review comments on documents and drawings.
• Develop and maintain workpacks, including testing requirements, specialist tools, and vendor identification, ensuring they meet scope requirements.
• Support project engineers across all phases, manage construction and completion activities, and promote cost‑reduction and productivity initiatives.
• Conduct offshore surveys with design teams, address fabrication and installation queries, and ensure timely IFC construction comments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry, with at least 5 years in the GCC region.
• At least 5 years in a similar senior position managing specialists, senior engineers, and engineers on major projects.
• Experience in FEED and EPC phases; ADNOC, offshore, and PMC experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, team engagement, and influencing skills.
