Lead Fuel Handling Technician

About the role

The Lead Fuel Handling Technician will direct and execute critical outage activities at the nuclear plant, including reactor vessel disassembly, core fuel removal and reload, and spent fuel pool movements. The role ensures coordination across the Outage Control Center, operations, maintenance, radiation protection, safety, and containment teams while maintaining the highest nuclear and industrial safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Act as stand‑in supervisor during absences, providing continuous leadership and support to field teams.
• Lead and supervise multiple maintenance teams, ensuring compliance with Nawah standards and critical path schedules.
• Develop and optimise plans for reactor vessel disassembly, reassembly, and fuel handling activities.
• Oversee fuel receipt, unloading, inspection, storage of fuel assemblies, and management of lifting and rigging equipment.
• Coordinate core loading and unloading, and manage all related fuel handling systems and equipment.
• Verify work quality and compliance with quality‑assurance procedures.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in nuclear fuel handling and outage operations.
• Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to nuclear safety, radiation protection, and industrial safety standards.
• Ability to maintain and update technical competencies according to a training qualification matrix.
