Lead Piping Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Piping Engineer to join our growing EPC project team. This position will play a critical role in leading the engineering, planning, execution, quality assurance, and commissioning support of piping systems across major Oil & Gas and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering and design reviews, approve P&IDs, isometrics, routing studies, stress analysis reports and support designs while ensuring compliance with ASME, API, ASTM and ANSI standards.
• Develop and monitor piping execution strategies, project schedules, material forecasting and procurement to optimise fabrication and installation work fronts.
• Manage fabrication, erection, welding, assembly, hydro‑testing, reinstatement and mechanical completion activities, resolving technical and construction issues with QA/QC teams.
• Review and approve material requisitions, technical bids and vendor documentation, track spool deliveries, NDT activities and subcontractor performance.
• Ensure compliance with inspection & test plans, support welding surveillance, NDT coordination and maintain accurate quality records.
• Prepare and manage hydrostatic/pneumatic test packages, support flushing, blowing, system hand‑over and punch‑list closure.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) and maintain regular communication with clients, consultants and vendors.
• Promote HSE compliance, participate in risk assessments, JSA/JHA workshops and foster a strong safety culture on all piping activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of piping engineering and construction experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery or power generation EPC projects.
• Proven leadership managing engineers, supervisors and subcontractors across multidisciplinary teams.
• Extensive hands‑on experience in piping fabrication, erection, testing and commissioning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory); Master’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (preferred).
